Valor Softball’s
College Placement Success

Valor Christian opened its doors in the fall of 2007. The Valor Softball program started with their inaugural season in the fall of 2008 (Colorado is one of the handful of states that plays high school softball in the fall). Since winning the program’s first state title in 2014 with the 2015 graduating class, the softball program has produced a steady stream of college softball athletes. 10 players have moved to the next level, 40% of the players who have graduated from the program since 2015. The graphic on the left illustrates all of the programs at the different levels of college baseball who have been a landing spot for our Eagles.

The Valor Christian Softball program maintains a clear focus on the spiritual, team, and on-field development of its softball athletes. The program intentionally partners with club organizations in Colorado and nationally in an effort to provide the best possible exposure for its athletes, while also advising in the overall development of its softball athletes.

Our athletic department utilizes SportsRecruits as our main portal for our recruiting efforts. We’d love you to connect with us through either of those portals to discuss our softball athletes. Scroll down to view our current uncommitted softball athletes.

UNCOMMITTED ATHLETES

KAYLIE WHIDDEN, SS, Class of 2024

Kaylie exploded on the scene in her freshman year, tying the single-season program home run record with 11 bombs in just 16 games. She ended the fall hitting .481 with a new program record 1.250 slugging percentage. A multi-sport athlete, she fields the shortstop position with great range and above-average arm strength. She’s recruitable as an infielder who could handle any of the four infield spots. Kaylie will be one of the top softball prospects in her class and will be a standout college softball player.

Silvaggi.jpg

ASHLEY SILVAGGI, RHP/OF, CLASS of 2022

Ashley joined our program this fall and made an immediate impact as the ace of our pitching staff. She averaged one strikeout per inning this fall against a top-ten schedule, including facing both state champions. With a year and an offseason under the tutelage of our pitching coach, Frank Trujillo (pitching coach for Ali Kilponen, LSU’s projected ace this spring), she’ll continue to achieve her potential. Having been mainly a power pitcher in her club experience, she’s growing in refining her ability to hit spots, change speeds and pitch. We expect Ashley to be able to lead us deep into the playoffs next fall. As a hitter, she moves well and produces consistent inside-out contact with power to the opposite field. Ashley will make a valuable addition to a college pitching staff.

JORDAN KINDER, 3B, CLASS of 2023

Jordan is a powerful softball athlete, potentially the most powerful player we’ve had in our program. We set some goals for her exit velocity at the beginning of her freshman year and she’s already blown past those goals. We’re now looking at a young woman who could consistently hit 80mph with her exit velocity. She possesses big-time power potential at the next level. In the field, Jordan’s primary position is third base where she covers the hot corner in surprising fashion. She’s continuing to become more athletic and is growing in her ability to move laterally. She’s a quiet, spiritual leader for our program and is one of the most encouraging influences on players in our program. Her softball and leadership profiles to being an exceptional player at the next level.

Barrett.jpg

KAITLYN BARRETT, C/1B, CLASS OF 2022

Kaitlyn will be a four-year varsity starter when she completes her senior year next season. She’s grown as a leader within the program during that time, both vocally and by example. She provides leadership from either of her primary positions - catcher and first base. As a catcher, she boasts an exceptional arm as well as the knowledge of the game necessary to command the position. As a first baseman, you’ll never see a ball get past her and instills confidence in her infielders. Her hitting has progressed over her time in high school. Once more of a pull hitter, she now has power to all fields, as exhibited by the video below. She will gravitate to the girls on the team ready to work hard and discipline themselves to be the best they can be. Kaitlyn will make a college program better with her play, presence, and leadership.

Santorno.jpg

AVERY SANTORNO, OF, CLASS OF 2022

Avery is an exceptional athlete and outfielder. She can hit from both sides of the plate, and we chose to use her as a slapper this past season. Avery’s above average speed makes her a weapon as a slapper and displays exceptional athleticism offensively. As an outfielder, she is able to use her speed to track down balls in either gap. Additionally, Avery has really grown as a leader within our program. She has found her leadership voice and quarterbacks our outfield beautifully. Avery will be an exceptional addition to a college program.
